Introduction

I am taking this opportunity to introduce myself as a Diploma Mechanical Engineer (1983), Diploma in Welding Engineering and Technology (2009) from Annamalai University having more than 25 years of experience in the welding fabrication industries worked in India and Abroad.
I have participated in many training programme, seminars, symposium and technical talk related to welding.
I am holding life membership with professional bodies such as Indian Institute of Welding, Indian Welding Society and membership with American Welding Society.
Now I am managing our own Industrial Welding Consultancy Firm, and Industrial School at Perambalur and Educating Welding related courses since August 2007.
  1. We have Permanent Registration with SSI.
  2. We have formed our Educational Trust registered with Registration Act.
  3. Recognized by Govt. of TamilNadu, Dept. of Employment and Training to conduct one year ITI welder Trade Course.
  4. Our logo is registered with Trade marks Registry, Govt. of India.
  5. Our Institute is listed in the Indian Institute of Welding Member's Resource Directory.

Welding Institute

Welding in the modern high technology fabrication industry and in maintenance requires not only skilled operatives, but also those who have a basic understanding of Welding Processes, Welding Technology, Inspection and Design.

Indian Industry currently operates on benchmarks and quality levels fixed by a global perspective. More than ever before, today’s need is for qualified welding technicians and there is a growing shortage of welding professionals, skills development especially for youth.

We think an appropriate level of education is essential at all levels from the skilled operative to the engineer; welding professionals include Engineers, Inspectors, Supervisors, Educators and welders.

Education is vital to the growth and maintenance of our industry in our country.

With a view to introduce, enrich the knowledge and skills of people in industries, we are conducting short term welding courses for the benefits of industry, practicing Engineers and unemployed youth.

Aim :

The economy, the need for trained welders and shortage of welding engineering professionals are the three factors most influencing the welding industry today.

The Sumeka Welding Institute(SWI) has three aims :

  • To enhance the training of students by demonstrating the availability and advantages of welding through ITI Course.
  • Short Term certificate programme in welding are conducted for the benefit of practicing engineer's and unemployed youth.
  • We are proud to invest in the young people who will help fill the growing demand for skilled welders in our country India. In fact manufacturer's across the country are reporting a dire shortage of welders.

    The SWI through specilized training and certification programs, is helping address this shortages by preparing young people for successful careers in welding.

Training Courses
We are conducting training courses in the following Technologies:

  1. One year ITI welder trade course. - Govt Recognised
  2. SMAW (Arc welding – Plate and Pipe), 6 Weeks, 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, 6G positions.
  3. TIG Welding (Plate and Pipe), 6G position
  4. Welding Inspection, Supervisor.
  5. Welding Engineering.
  6. QA/QC, NDT and Piping.

  • Senior Welding Inspector (SWI) - CSWIP 3.2 Certified by The welding Institute (TWI,UK)2000-2010.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certified by American Welding Society(AWS)-1994-2003
  • ASNT NDT level-II in RT,PT and MT-1997-2014.
